Tossa de Mar has opened its first five-star hotel, Elisabeth by the Sea, marking a new chapter in luxury hospitality on the Costa Brava. Developed by Bondia Hotels, the project transformed the historic Hotel Rovira — originally built in 1930 — into a contemporary destination that combines Mediterranean elegance with sustainability.

The renovation, led by architect Víctor Catalán and Taller 17300, carefully preserved the building’s original character while introducing a refined and modern architectural language inspired by the surrounding coastal landscape.

The interiors feature a curated selection of international design brands, including Kettal, whose outdoor furniture contributes to the hotel’s relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. Together with pieces from Ethnicraft and lighting by Santa & Cole, the spaces create a seamless connection between comfort, design, and the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Committed to sustainability, Elisabeth by the Sea has obtained the BioScore certification, recognizing its energy efficiency and responsible environmental management. The hotel also offers premium amenities such as a rooftop pool and bar, spa facilities, and sea-view rooms designed to enhance the guest experience.
