Overlooking Sagami Bay on the Japanese coast, Casa CABaN Hayama redefines contemporary hospitality through a refined balance of architecture, nature, and sensory experience. Conceived by Patricia Urquiola and STUDIO URQUIOLA, the boutique hotel reflects a warm and intimate vision of luxury, deeply connected to the surrounding landscape and the calm rhythm of seaside living.
Designed as a retreat between the ordinary and the extraordinary, the project features only 14 rooms, each opening onto expansive terraces with views of the ocean and Mount Fuji. Natural materials, soft textures, and handcrafted details create spaces that feel both sophisticated and deeply personal, embodying Urquiola’s signature approach to comfort and emotional design.
Outdoor living plays an essential role throughout the project. Kettal furnishings integrate seamlessly into terraces and communal spaces, enhancing the dialogue between architecture and nature while offering moments for contemplation, gathering, and rest. The result is a serene Mediterranean-inspired atmosphere translated into a Japanese coastal context.
Casa CABaN Hayama stands as Patricia Urquiola’s first fully directed hotel project in Japan, bringing together design, craftsmanship, and hospitality in a uniquely immersive experience.
