Vincent Van Duysen
Vincent Van Duysen, born in 1962 in Lokeren, Belgium, is a prominent architect known for blending architecture, interior design, and product design. After studying at Sint-Lucas School of Architecture in Ghent and working with Aldo Cibic and Jean De Meulder, he founded Vincent Van Duysen Architects in 1989. His firm has expanded significantly and focuses on high-end residential projects and product design internationally. Van Duysen's work is distinguished by its use of pure materials and timeless aesthetics, emphasizing functionality, durability, and comfort. He has received numerous accolades, including the Flemish Culture Prize for Design, Belgian Designer of the Year, and the Henry van de Velde Lifetime Achievement Award. His recognition extends to being featured in the AD100 and Elle Decor A-List, highlighting his influence in architecture and design. For many years, Van Duysen’s work has been appearing on a number of prestigious international publications. Starting from 1994, his projects and realizations have also been featured in different monographs among which those edited by renowned publishing house Thames & Hudson. In 2024, “Vincent Van Duysen: Private”, a new personal look into the architect’s residences, has been published by Rizzoli with photography by François Halard.
