‘Modernist’ is a new textile collection inspired by materials and colours of the Modern movement. The design celebrates the diverse interpretation of modernist ideals by artists and architects worldwide from Los Angeles to Ahmedabad, universal in appeal yet rooted in local culture. ‘Modernist’ has a textural quality of an architectural surface and the refinement of tailoring fabrics. The machine like precision of the diagonal weave structure is softened by a sophisticated blend of yarn colours. Modernist collection is available in 16 colour ways, with every colour referencing icons of Modernism from Niemeyer’s crisp white Brasilia, Eileen Gray’s dark lacquered surfaces, Doshi’s soft tones of concrete, to Anni Albers’ woven tapestries. Each colour of Modernist is distinct yet all the colours in the collection work together to create complete indoor and outdoor environments.
