Scientific and technological research has always been at the forefront of Kettal’s product development. The materials used by Kettal are developed by the Kettal R&D team and manufactured in Europe exclusively for Kettal. Together, they reflect a constant pursuit of functionality, innovation and aesthetics

Stories
The Matter of Matter
For The Matter of Matter, Doshi Levien designed five material families for Kettal: Modernist, Terrain Elements, Bela Rope, Terrain Paints and Terrain Lustre
Through colour, texture and craftsmanship, each collection reimagines the relationship between performance and beauty, transforming technical materials into expressive design elements. Together, they form a coherent material language shaped by research, innovation and contemporary design….

Nature Becomes Palette Colours, textures and finishes are inspired by the landscapes that surround us. Forests, minerals, oceans and deserts are translated into subtle tones, tactile surfaces and rich material expressions. Rather than imitating nature, these materials reinterpret its essence through design.

Every material reveals its character through craftsmanship. The woven geometry of Bela Rope, the depth of ceramics, the warmth of teak and the refinement of natural stone demonstrate how technical precision and tactile beauty can coexist within a single design language.

A Dialogue of Materials
The true richness of Kettal’s material universe emerges when materials come together. Textiles, metals, ceramics, wood and stone interact through contrast and harmony, creating compositions that feel both natural and intentional. A collection designed not as individual finishes, but as a complete material language.
