Bela ropes was inspired by a fabric with a twill weave structure. Wrapping this fabric around an existing rope immediately revealed the direction for the new Kettal ropes. Taking the lead from the Terrain fabrics, the ropes play on the tonal differences between colours. The challenge was to use the elegant thin lines of the twill as a way to mix colour; from a distance the ropes look visually rich and textural and on closer inspection we discover it is provided by the twill pattern.
